Kelly played collegiate tennis for Autin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. Upon graduating he worked for some of the top names in the teaching world, Peter Burwash, Nick Bollitierri, and John Newcombe. Kellys specific teaching style has developed from what he had learned while working with these and other teaching greats. Starting his own tennis school in 1991, it has operated in Vermont, Florida, Bermuda, Jamaica and Georgia. The schools have received top accolades from magazines worldwide. In the summer of 2010 Kelly had his first book published, “Tennis Made Easy” an instructional book that has received great reviews. Kelly founded “Tennis without Borders” a not for profit foundation to help children in developing nations in 2009, in January 2012 he made his third trip to Africa to help children develop through tennis. Through all of his tennis programs he has reached nearly 20,000 tennis players with his innovative style of instruction. Kelly is also the new owner of Artisan Pizza Kitchen on Franklin St.

LAST CALL - Chapel Hill Tennis Club Cup "Awesome" Tennis Event
FREE team tennis event for Adults and Juniors, Members and Guests. We are "serving" up this very popular event from last year.
Teams - consist of at least 6 players.
Format - separate Adult and Junior Divisions with a very fun team tennis format
Day - Saturday, April 11
Time - 9am Opening Ceremony / 9:30am-noon Let the Tennis Games begin / 12:30 Pot Luck Luncheon Social
1:30 or so - Closing Ceremony with hugs, kisses, high fives, etc...after a great day of Tennis, Food, Fellowship and Fun!!!
Details - You may sign up to Captain and form a Team or sign up to be placed on a Team. However, what made this such a success
in past years was that we had many members step up and volunteer to Captain and form Teams. It would be awesome to have
a few members help us duplicate that success again and Captain and form Teams, of course with assistance from the staff if needed.
All Teams represent a Country of their choice and bring pot luck lunch items to share that is Native Cuisine of that Country.
We will provide the FREE Beer, Wine and other beverages.
We will play a very FUN Team Tennis Format based on the number of teams and players.

There will be a separate Junior Division and Juniors must be able to serve, keep score and rally consistently.

New this Year we introduce Indoor Tennis Summer Season!!!
On a trial basis we will offer Indoor Tennis while out of our Regular Indoor Tennis Season.
Beginning Monday, April 6 we will continue to offer Indoor Tennis Play at an introductory trial rate of just $24 per court time through the end of September until the regular Indoor Tennis Winter Season begins. During this time we will not run the A/C units in hopes that the reflective roof and the "cool" new lighting will provide a nice environment out of the summer sun. Also during this time, you may only reserve Indoor Court Time by calling the Pro Shop and cannot reserve online.
***During this Indoor Tennis Summer Season - In the event of rain or any court closures, all camps, clinics & lessons will take precedence over all reservations. If you happen to book an Indoor Court Time and you are bumped by a camp, clinic or lesson because of rain or any court closures, you will not be charged the Indoor Court Time. Please understand that if you are bumped it is Club Policy during this Indoor Tennis Summer Season***
