Chapel Hill Tennis Club USTA League Info

Dear CHTC Member, If you have any questions please contact directly Lauren Herman lauren@chapelhilltennisclub.com This spring USTA will look very different from previous years. In addition to the limits outlined below from Durham Parks and Recreation, CHTC will also be limiting the number of teams a member can join with CHTC as the home courts. Due to increased court demand at our club, members may join only one (1) evening team, however you are welcome to join more than (1) day team. This step will allow more member driven social play in the evenings which is in high demand. Please review the details from DPR below which outline the limits to the number of teams per flight. Steps to create a team for spring 2021 from Durham Parks and Rec: From Cathy Reagan, DPR Recreation Coordinator (Cathy.Reagan@durhamnc.gov): How to Get a Team Registered On January 2, 2021, complete and submit thejotform Eno River Area League Team Number Request form. Forms will be accepted no earlier than 8am on January 2, 2021 Any submissions received prior to this date and time will be removed and you will need to resubmit. I will also put this link on a word document on the google drive for easy access. It will not be in a folder. On January 4, 2021, I will go through the submissions in the order they were received and create the team and send you the team number to send out to your players. Since initially, we can only take 5 teams per age group and level, if your submission has to go on the wait list, you will be notified that you have been wait listed. After the Initial Team Deadline After the initial team deadline of January 20, 2021, we will review what we have in each level. If we have one level with less than 5 teams, that means we can take another team in a different level. If we are able to add additional teams, we will contact the teams on the wait list in the order they were received originally and you would have until midnight on January 26 to get the minimum number of players registered. Helpful Reminders All players will be required to submit the DPR General Registration Waiver before being eligible to play a match. The link for this form will be sent to the captains in their welcome/team number email to distribute to their players. If your club is not allowing league play as of registration, you would need to select a city court. If you are not sure whether or not your club has provided courts, please ask your club manager or head pro. If your club decides to allow league play after your team has been created and before we start schedules on January 27, 2021, we can change your home court facility. If a player from a club that is not providing courts does not live in The City of Durham (not county), each would be required to pay the $12 non-city resident fee. The instructions to make these payments are on the google drive in the Non-Durham Folder. If you select a specific city court, that does not mean that all of your home matches would be at that one location. Please keep in mind that if a club that is offering courts closes during the season, all matches at that facility would be moved to city courts on any available day we have (could be different than the listed days of play) It is DPR’s intent to continue and finish the Spring Adult League should it get postponed due to acts of God, war, government regulation or order, pandemic (including, but not limited to, COVID-19), terrorism, natural disaster, or any other emergency beyond DPR’s control, foreseeable or unforeseeable.
